  • Port Macquarie Surfing Museum

    Vision Statement

To be a recognised as a Premier Museum in NSW and Australia for the preservation of surf heritage and beach culture, including recognition of ancient indigenous people & their history-culture pertaining to the ocean foreshore.

    Mission Statement

To collect and preserve artefacts relating to surf history and beach culture and exhibit the collection for the benefit of the community. To work with existing museums exchanging ideas and exhibits where appropriate, providing new and interesting exhibits for the communities to learn from. To raise awareness of surf safety and surf rescue, we will be conducting training courses on how to successfully rescue someone who is in distress in the ocean. We plan to work with schools and educate students on surf heritage and the importance of surf safety. Also to preserve ancient surf craft construction techniques through training students in a practical setting.
